Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana Mark's biggest hobby is spending time with his growing family. He also enjoys being outdoors and is a sucker for deep thought. In terms of music he is primarily a pianist, but really plays any instrument he lays his hands on. Mark has enjoyed sacred music since participating in a church choir as a teenager, and being asked to accompany the congregation on the organ when he was just 16 years old. After completing his a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he continued to study music at Brigham Young University-Idaho.
At BYU-Idaho, Mark studied piano performance with Dr. Stephen Thomas and participated with the regular curriculum of music theory and history. He is currently a graduate student at Illinois State University studying music therapy. He enjoys writing for various ensembles and has had original hymns performed at BYU-Idaho's annual hymn festival. Other compositions have been performed in various school recitals and church venues.
